Dutch Police Confiscate 250 Servers from "Bulletproof" Hosting Provider
Dutch police have executed a large-scale operation against an unnamed "bulletproof" hosting provider, seizing approximately 250 physical servers from data centers in The Hague and Zoetermeer. The seizure caused thousands of virtual servers to go offline simultaneously. Media sources indicate the operation likely targeted the hosting service CrazyRDP.
Law enforcement authorities have not publicly identified the service. However, investigators report the provider had operated since 2022 and appeared in more than 80 cybercrime investigations across the Netherlands and internationally.
According to the investigation, the hosting service marketed itself by offering clients complete anonymity and guaranteeing non-cooperation with police. Criminals used its infrastructure to operate ransomware campaigns, botnets, and phishing operations. The service also hosted content related to child sexual abuse.
Investigators are currently conducting forensic analysis of the seized equipment to identify both the service's operators and its customer base.
While official law enforcement statements omitted the provider's name, sources at Bleeping Computer identify the target as CrazyRDP. This service offered clients VPS and RDP access without KYC requirements or logging. Registration required only a username and password. The publication notes that darknet forums frequently recommended the service as reliable.
On November 12, administrators deleted all posts from the official CrazyRDP Telegram channel and redirected subscribers to a new channel where members discussed the service's sudden closure. Clients reported hosting as many as 30 servers on the platform. Many suspected an exit scam—CrazyRDP's technical support initially cited data center problems before ceasing all communication.
